About Vectren Energy Delivery

Vectren Energy Delivery (Vectren), headquartered in Houston, Texas, provides gas and electricity to more than 1 million customers in two-thirds of Indiana and about 20% of Ohio, primarily in the west-central area.

To improve the lives in the communities it serves, the company established The Vectren Foundation to provide funding for nearly 400 nonprofit organizations – focusing on education programs, fair living wage jobs, and green initiatives.

In April 2018, CenterPoint Energy and Vectren announced a merger agreement to form a leading energy delivery, expanding their joint customer base to nearly 7 million customers.  If you are a Vectren customer, you can log in to your online customer account here.

Energy Choice In Indiana

Only natural gas (not electricity) residential and non-residential customers in the NIPSCO Energy service area have energy choice. If you live in Indiana and you are currently served by Vectren Energy Delivery, unfortunately, you cannot switch electricity suppliers.

Energy Choice In Ohio

Ohio has deregulated its retail energy sector in 2001, giving its residents the power to choose who will supply their electricity and gas – and for what price. Since then, some 50% of residents switched electric suppliers, which according to research, has generated a staggering $15 billion saving on Ohio electric bills.

When you switch to a new supplier, Vectren Energy Delivery will continue to deliver the same reliable service, read your meter, perform safety checks, and respond to emergencies. What will change are the Supply Charges on your electric bill based on the rate provided by your new supplier.

Pay Your Vectren Energy Delivery Bill

Vectren Energy Delivery customers can pay for their electric and natural gas bills online, either by a bank account transfer or with a debit/credit card. You can choose to enroll in AutoPay and have the bill automatically deducted from your account each month.

Want to make your bill more predictable? Vectren also offers Budget Billing, a program that takes your annual energy bill and divides it by 12, so you pay the same amount each month.

Vectren Share the warmth Program

Vectren established the Share the Warmth program to assist income-eligible Indiana and Ohio customers with their heating needs. If you choose to donate to the program, you can help weatherize the homes of less fortunate families in the community with the goal of lowering energy usage and energy bills.
