Lowest Electric Rates in Dallas

The Dallas electricity market is one of the most robust and competitive energy markets in the United States. Rather than being forced to buy power from the local utility company at predetermined rates from energy sources that are out of the consumer’s control, people in Dallas have the ability to shop for the lowest electric rates from over three dozen electricity companies who generate electricity from a variety of sources.

Former Texas Governor George W. Bush signed Texas Senate Bill 7 which restructured the electricity market in 2002 so that consumers, both residential and commercial, were given the ability to shop and compare electric rates and companies. Since that time competition has forced electricity prices down, improved customer service created jobs, and have increased the product offering available to consumers.
